Absolutely perfect timing. @GoBikeGlasgow @UofGsustain @PeopleByresRoad #paintIsNotProtection https://t.co/LENi1rbIkA

Painted cycle lanes don’t work, especially if the council just keeps turning a blind eye to those who abuse it. I tried to speak to the guy in the car and ask why he thought it was okay for him to park there, no response. @GoBikeGlasgow ... [more]

Spokes Cycles, Dundee - recently moved from Perth Road

Buses and bikes only (and taxis at night), Dundee

Dundee Rep Theatre - no cycle parking

Dundee seems to have no money for cycle parking but plenty for strange metal sculptures - no wonder that people lock bikes to them. (That's Desperate Dan in the background, of course.)

Tesco probably paid for this bridge but didn't want to sacrifice the space for a ramp.

Cycleway parallel to the railway, and ramp to the bridge (with only steps or a lift on the far side) to Tesco Extra, Dundee

Crossing between the new steps and bridge to Tesco Extra, Dundee

Wheeling channel - but there was plenty of space to put in ramps for wheelchairs and buggies as well as bikes

New steps and bridge to Tesco Extra with level access at this end but only steps or a lift at the other end.

SLOW to cycle through a car park

Cycle route parallel to the railway from Dundee station - SLOW because of course drivers have to reverse across the cycleway.

Barriers on cycle route parallel to the railway to Dundee station

New steps down to Tesco Extra, Dundee - there's plenty of room for ramps, but no, anyone with a wheelchair, buggie or bike has to go the long way round.

Stylish but not totally practical (surely the horizontal bar gets in the way?) cycle parking at Dundee Contemporary Arts

Sign to new cycle parking (a row of Sheffields in the rain, but that's ok)

The end of the on-road cycleway on Lincoln Avenue, but where next? The fresh dropped kerb across the junction suggests that it is onto the existing footway. And another corner for collecting detritus. UPDATE: A direction sign for a qu ... [more]

@SustransScot Another cycle lane bites the dust at Tay St, Perth. Part of national cycle route network. Thoughts? https://t.co/BProPQLN96 [NCN route 77 passes behind the camera; there's a shared-use link on the footway to the left, but the ... [more]

  • Icon 106766 There is so little around this area - whenever I'm searching for somewhere to park up I always see other cyclists in the same position and many bikes locked awkwardly to random lamp-posts and signposts, which fall over and get in everyone's way.
  • Icon 106760 Many of our employees cycle to work. Others want to but there is not sufficient cycle parking provision. New cycle racks would improve the street front and help us reach our ecology goals!

  • Icon 106635 I am writing to ask for your assistance. I live on Ridley Road and am a cyclist. I don't have a car, but have a bike. I would like to have free bike lock-ups on the street. I find it incredibly frustrating that I could have a free car permit to park on the street (but don't own a car), but have to pay a private company to use the bike lock-up on the street. Added to this is the fact that the bike storage is full. I have read the London Borough of Newham Cycling Strategy 2017/18, and I would like to suggest that free parking is put on the road as a number of residents on the street agree that there is demand
  • Icon 106619 This is a mixed residential and commercial area, with only a single stand. There are many cyclists in the area in need of cycle parking
  • Icon 106468 There are not a lot of places to store bikes in lockers/hangars closeby and a few people in our building alone use a bike as main use of transport. Where there are lockers/hangars they are full.
  • Icon 106454 Cycle parking at SOAS, University of London. Often busy; room for over 100 bicycles, although the actual number may vary owing to changes in the number of stands and street furniture every so often. Private land owned by the University of London; public right of way and no restrictions on cycle parking.
